Job summary

Newmark Hotels & Reserves is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee upkeep of facilities, greenery, and equipment across our reserves. You will lead a maintenance team and coordinate external contractors, respond to client maintenance requests, and ensure safety standards are met.

The role requires Grade 12, a technical qualification, 3–5 years of maintenance management experience, and a valid driver’s license is advantageous. Strong problem solving and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
• Relevant technical qualification or trade certificate advantageous.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ maintenance management experience.
• Experience managing a maintenance team and external contractors.
• Valid driver’s licence advantageous.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all company policies, procedures & SOPs are adhered to.
• Attend to breakdowns of plant, machinery & equipment quickly.
• Clean facilities by dusting, sweeping, etc.
• Perform maintenance & light repairs to ensure fittings work.
• Paint and fill gaps or crevices on walls, sidewalks, etc.
• Undertake light installation or carpeting (e.g., build cabinets).
• Repair equipment or appliances.
• Assist trades people with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs.
• Identify & report needs for painting/maintenance.
• Maintain safety records as per requirements.
• Undertake routine checks on water pressure equipment & maintain accordingly.
• Ensure emergency equipment is in working order at all times.
• Complete maintenance logs as required.
• Maintain clean, orderly & hazard-free work areas.
• Identify & report needs for major repairs.
• Any other adhoc duties that may be required.
