Job summary

Department of Health at Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital is seeking a cleaning attendant to perform routine hospital cleaning across wards, offices, corridors and facilities. The role includes high-dusting, disinfection, and maintaining cleaning materials and equipment.

Candidates should have a Basic ABET qualification, 1–2 years of cleaning experience, and the ability to work shifts including weekends and holidays. The package is approximately R144,024 per annum plus benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning services of a routine nature by utilizing a variety of aids. Cleaning of hospital and clinics, departments, offices, corridors, elevators, boardrooms, kitchens, windows, and toilets/restrooms, do high dusting/disinfection of hospital environment, scrub downs and other related cleaning tasks.
• Keep and maintain cleaning materials and equipment. Report broken cleaning machines and equipment. Cleaning of machines and equipment after use. Request cleaning material. Rotate within the scope of work.
• Perform any other work-related duties as instructed by the supervisor.

Requirements :

• Basic ABET qualification. Ability to operate cleaning equipment (machines). Ability to read and write. Able to work in a team. Must be prepared to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays as well as being rotated to different wards or sections within the institution. Punctuality and good work ethics. Must have the ability to work under enormous pressure. One (1) to two (2) years relevant cleaning experience.
