You will lead initiatives from planning through deployment and staff training, coordinating with agronomists, engineers and farm managers to ensure smooth adoption.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in project management within agriculture, strong leadership, and hands-on experience with modern farming tech such as IoT, farm software, and precision

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead AgriTech implementation projects from planning to completion.

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking agricultural enterprise, is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee the implementation of new technologies and operational systems within their farms and processing facilities located in and around Paarl, Western Cape . This role is pivotal in integrating cutting-edge agricultural technology (AgriTech) to enhance productivity, sustainability, and efficiency across operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from initial planning and vendor selection through to successful deployment and user training. You will work closely with agronomists, engineers, and farm managers to ensure seamless integration and adoption of these technologies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of agricultural operations combined with robust project management skills and a passion for innovation in the AgriTech sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and completion of AgriTech implementation projects.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Manage project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between technical specialists and operational staff in Paarl, Western Cape .
• Oversee vendor selection and management, ensuring quality and timely delivery of technological solutions.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure seamless integration of new technologies with existing farm management systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably with a focus on technology implementation in the agricultural sector.
• Strong understanding of modern farming practices and AgriTech solutions (e.g., precision farming, IoT in agriculture, farm management software).
• Proven ability to manage projects from inception to successful completion.Familiarity with the agricultural landscape in the Western Cape region.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
• Ability to manage on-site project activities and coordinate with diverse teams.
