• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting throughout the lifecycle.

What does a Project Manager at Octoco look like?

We're looking for a Project Manager to join Octoco's Embedded department and help bring our hardware and firmware projects to life. Embedded work has its own rhythm. Components need to be ordered weeks in advance, PCBs go through revisions, firmware develops alongside the hardware it runs on, and final commissioning often happens on-site. A good project manager in this space keeps the whole picture in view and helps the team move through it smoothly.

This role is well-suited to someone with an engineering background who's ready to step into a project manager role. Your understanding of how embedded systems actually come together, will help you ask the right questions, spot risks early, and have credible conversations with both engineers and suppliers.

What We're Looking For

• A Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic, or Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Hands‑on experience with embedded systems, whether that's been in firmware, hardware, PCB design, or systems integration, is a plus.
• A genuine interest in moving from engineering execution into project delivery.
• An appreciation for how embedded projects differ from pure software work.
• Some familiarity with project management tools (ClickUp, Jira, Trello) is helpful, though we'll happily support you in learning whatever you need.
• An interest in agile ways of working and how teams can keep improving.
• A communication style that works with engineers, clients, and suppliers alike.
• A proactive nature and a willingness to take ownership of the things you commit to.

What You'll Be Doing

Project Delivery

• Plan, manage, and support the delivery of embedded projects within defined timelines, scope, and quality standards.
• Coordinate deliverables across cross‑functional teams, including software engineers, QA, design, and product owners.
• Identify and help manage project risks, interdependencies, and critical paths to ensure successful delivery.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting throughout the lifecycle.
• Keeping an eye on hardware lead times, procurement, and component availability, and flagging when they're likely to affect the schedule.

Team Coordination

• Support agile processes and ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of team workflows and project delivery frameworks.
• Work closely with embedded team members to keep delivery on track.
• Foster a collaborative team environment that supports shared ownership and accountability.
• Coordinating between engineers so that hardware, firmware, and testing activities line up.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Facilitate clear and effective communication between internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Assist with gathering stakeholder feedback and ensure satisfaction through regular updates and check‑ins.
• Build strong, professional relationships with clients and internal teams.
