About the Role

Our client, a major operator in the Oil & Gas industry , is seeking a highly competent Project Engineer (Facilities) to oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of upstream and midstream facilities. Based in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga , this role is integral to developing and maintaining the infrastructure required for hydrocarbon production and transportation. The Project Engineer will manage projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. This position demands strong project management skills, technical expertise in facility engineering, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of oil and gas facility projects, from feasibility studies to handover.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and execution plans.
• Oversee the design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of facilities.
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant engineering standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in project engineering, specifically within the Oil & Gas sector , with a focus on facility design and construction.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of process engineering, P&IDs, HAZOP studies, and facility design principles.
• Experience with project management software and methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
• Familiarity with the operational landscape and regulatory environment in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga .
