The Building Company in Potchefstroom is seeking a store leader to drive profitability and growth. You will oversee costs, sales turnover, and compliance while maximizing opportunities for the store and its customers.

With 5–10 years of retail experience, you will plan budgets, manage procurement and stock, and lead a team to deliver excellent service. A commerce degree or equivalent is preferred, with strong financial acumen and OHSA awareness.

Qualifications

• Commerce degree or equivalent for the role.
• Financial/management diploma is preferred.
• Grade 12 minimum requirement.

Responsabilités

• Manage profitability: drive store profitability via cost controls, sales growth and maximizing returns.
• Planning and budgeting: translate objectives into an operating plan for the store.
• Procurement, stock control and merchandising: ensure inward logistics align with policies and maintain optimal stock levels.
• Maintain stock variances: keep stock levels aligned with planning.
• Financial management: compile and adhere to store budget and financial processes.
• Customer service: handle complaints, coordinate promotions and PR to grow brand share.
• Accountable for day-to-day operations and staff management.
• Operational analysis: review data to diagnose issues and opportunities with the Ops team.
• People management: lead and develop store team following company policies.
• Legislative compliance and corporate governance: ensure legal compliance and take appropriate action.
• Uphold and promote company values and culture.
