Sugar People on Vilakazi Street is seeking a commercially driven, hands-on General Manager to run the venue as a profitable business, not merely to manage shifts. You will oversee restaurant, bar, kitchen and entertainment operations through department heads, ensure openings are fully prepared, and drive guest experiences and corporate bookings.

In this role you will own the monthly revenue target, budget, and profit, while controlling labour, stock and costs.

Qualifications

• Commercially driven, hands-on General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Leader of daily restaurant, bar, kitchen and entertainment operations via department heads.
• Ensure venue opens prepared: clean, stocked, staffed and briefed.
• Oversee bookings, VIP experiences, private functions and events.
• Own facilities, maintenance, health and safety, liquor licence conditions and food safety compliance.
• Lead the management of monthly revenue targets, budget and venue profit, and review daily cash-ups.
