Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop architectural drawings, plans, and technical documentation.
• Produce detailed construction drawings and specifications per project requirements.
• Assist with design development and technical execution of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
• Ensure drawings comply with building regulations, SANS, and municipal requirements.
• Coordinate project information with architects, engineers, QS and consultants.
• Prepare documentation for municipal submissions and approvals.
• Participate in project meetings and liaise with clients, contractors and consultants.
• Maintain project documentation and drawing revisions throughout the lifecycle.
• Assist in resolving technical design challenges during construction.
• Ensure projects are delivered within deadlines with high quality.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, software developments and best practices.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established and growing boutique architectural practice based in Durbanville, is seeking a Professional Architectural Technologist to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for a qualified professional who is passionate about architecture, technical excellence and delivering innovative, high-quality design solutions.

The successful candidate will play an integral role in the design development, technical documentation, as well as coordination of architectural projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and develop architectural drawings, plans, and technical documentation.
• Produce detailed construction drawings and specifications in accordance with project requirements.
• Assist with the design development and technical execution of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building regulations, SANS standards, and municipal requirements.
• Coordinate project information with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, and other consultants.
• Prepare documentation for municipal submissions and statutory approvals.
• Participate in project meetings and liaise with clients, contractors and consultants where required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Registered as a Professional Architectural Technologist with SACAP .
• National Diploma or Degree in Architectural Technology or related qualification.
• 35 years' post-registration experience within an architectural practice.
• Proficient in: ArchiCAD (essential) Twinmotion CADDIE Experience using additional architectural software packages will be advantageous.
