Job summary

Shift Pursuit is assisting an established architectural practice in Bellville, Cape Town to recruit a Professional Architect. The role leads project delivery from briefing and concept development through documentation, approvals, construction and handover.

The ideal candidate combines strong design with technical coordination, client management and leadership, ensuring projects meet budget, programme and quality standards while maintaining stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• SACAP-registered architect with a master’s degree in architecture.
• 5–10 years post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in the field.
• Proficient in Revit and Autodesk suite; rendering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from briefing, site analysis and concept development through to completion.
• Develop design concepts and translate them into compliant, buildable documentation.
• Coordinate consultants and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage municipal submissions and approvals.
• Oversee construction execution and maintain quality control.
• Monitor project budgets, fees, timelines and deliverables.
• Identify and manage project risks, delays and potential cost overruns.
• Build strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
