Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Production Engineer for a Durban-based manufacturing facility. You will supervise daily chemical production operations, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to boost productivity and product quality while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a chemical engineering degree with at least 4 years of experience in chemical manufacturing. Lean/Six Sigma exposure is a plus, and opportunities for career progression are highlighted in

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or production environment.
Solid understanding of chemical plant operations and process control systems.
Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily production activities to meet output targets and quality standards.
Monitor process parameters and equipment performance, taking corrective actions as needed.
Implement and manage preventative maintenance schedules for production machinery.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Train and supervise plant operators on safe operating procedures and best practices.
