A global procurement firm in Century City, Cape Town is looking for a Procurement Specialist to support clients with their procurement needs. The successful candidate will possess strong sales skills, effective communication, and the ability to work under pressure. The role includes negotiations with suppliers, sourcing products, and building relationships. Candidates must be within 20-30 km of Century City. This is an entry-level full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits.

Responsibilities

Supporting clients with their procurement requirements
Ensuring client requests are quoted quickly and efficiently
Understanding clients' technical requests and quoting accurately
Sourcing and buying a wide range of products
Obtaining shipping costs when required
Negotiating with suppliers to obtain best prices
Building and maintaining positive supplier relationships
Providing swift solutions to customers
Achieving personal sales targets and KPIs

Skills

Strong and proven sales/procurement background

Confident and clear communication ability (English is essential)

Highly organized with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively

We specialise in global procurement, international trading and supply chain management with clients based in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and South America and involved in many different sectors such as Mining, Oil & Gas, Construction, Agriculture, Engineering and Manufacturing.

Due to our continued success and expansion plans for this year, we are recruiting for a Procurement Specialist to join our office in Century City, Cape Town, South Africa.

The successful candidate will have the ability to carry out the below responsibilities (training will also be provided):

Responsibilities

Supporting our clients with their procurement requirements
Ensuring client requests are quoted quickly and efficiently
Understanding clients technical requests and quoting accurately
Involved in sourcing and buying a wide range of products including specialist tools, maintenance, repair and operational equipment
Obtaining shipping costs (sea, air, courier) when required
Negotiating with suppliers on the phone and email to obtain best prices and payment terms
Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relationships
Providing swift and viable solutions to customers
Consistently achieving personal sales targets and KPI’s

Skills Required

Strong and proven sales/procurement background
Confident and clear communication ability (English is essential)
Highly organized with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Positive attitude and be able work well within a team or individually
Ability to work under pressure and think your feet
Strong business acumen – understanding what makes profit and loss on a deal
