Placements24 is seeking a motivated Procurement Officer for an on-site role in Upington, Northern Cape. You will manage sourcing, negotiations, and purchasing of farm inputs, equipment, and services to support cooperative members.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree and have 3+ years in procurement within agriculture, with strong negotiation and supplier management skills and proficiency in Excel. ERP familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• A National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the agricultural sector.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural inputs, equipment, and market dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, chemicals, and machinery parts.
• Negotiate favorable prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and select vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance monitoring.
• Ensure timely delivery of all procured goods and services.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
• Monitor inventory levels of key agricultural supplies.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent agricultural cooperative in Upington, Northern Cape , is seeking a motivated and experienced Procurement Officer to manage the acquisition of farm supplies, equipment, and services.
