Placements24 is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to safeguard chemical processes at their Kimberley facility. You will lead PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/FMEA), develop PSM programs, and ensure regulatory compliance while collaborating with operations, engineering and maintenance teams.

The role emphasizes hazard identification, risk reduction, and strong safety leadership. You will review MOC requests, design and verify SIS, conduct incident investigations, and deliver safety training to personnel.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in process safety engineering.
• Thorough understanding of process safety principles and standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
• Experience conducting PHAs and developing PSM programs.
• Knowledge of safety instrumented systems (SIS) and functional safety (IEC 61508/61511).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Professional CSP certification is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
• Develop and implement robust Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable process safety regulations and industry standards.
• Perform consequence modeling and quantitative risk assessments (QRA).
• Review and approve management of change (MOC) requests related to process safety.
• Develop and implement safety instrumented systems (SIS) design and verification.
• Conduct incident investigations and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to relevant personnel.
• Maintain process safety information (PSI) and ensure its accuracy and accessibility.
