Placements24 seeks a Process Safety Engineer to join in Richards Bay, SA. You will develop and manage Process Safety Management programs, conduct risk-based PHAs, and lead incident investigations to prevent recurrence.

The role requires a degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years in process safety within oil/gas or chemicals, with strong knowledge of PSM standards and SIS familiarity. On-site, this role emphasizes safety leadership and compliance.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering within oil and gas or chemical industries.
• Strong knowledge of PSM standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso Directive).
• Experience in PHAs and risk assessments.
• Familiarity with SIS and emergency relief systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
• Strong understanding of SA and international safety regulations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, implement, and manage Process Safety Management programs.
• Conduct PHAs such as HAZOP, HAZID, and LOPA.
• Perform incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to personnel.
• Review MOC requests for process safety implications.
• Perform safety audits and inspections of facilities.
• Recommend and implement measures to mitigate process safety risks.
• Maintain process safety documentation and records.
• Stay updated on trends and best practices in process safety engineering.
