Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Process Safety Engineer to support Centurion operations, applying process safety principles to assess risks and enhance hazard controls across Oil & Gas and chemical processing facilities.

The role covers PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/FMEA), PSM program development, SIS and relief systems design, incident investigation, and safety training for operations and engineering staff. Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM, API and NFPA standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 6+ years of process safety experience in Oil & Gas or chemical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of PSM elements, hazard identification techniques, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and emergency relief systems design.
• Familiarity with OSHA PSM, API, NFPA standards.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Safety Engineer to join their team, supporting operations from Centurion . This role is vital for ensuring the safety and integrity of chemical processes within their facilities, focusing on risk assessment, hazard mitigation, and regulatory compliance. You will play a key part in maintaining a robust safety culture and preventing incidents through rigorous application of process safety principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering and a passion for safety management within the demanding Oil & Gas and chemical processing industries .

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
• Develop, implement, and manage Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and policies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and international safety regulations and industry standards.
• Oversee mechanical integrity programs for critical process equipment and safety systems.
• Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of relevant safety codes and standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, API, NFPA).
