Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Process Safety Engineer to contribute to remote operations in the Oil & Gas sector. You will identify, assess, and mitigate process risks from a home office, applying hazard identification and risk management to protect people and the environment.

You will conduct PHAs (HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA), develop and implement Process Safety Management programs, perform incident investigations, review designs and P&IDs for safety, and deliver process safety training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
• 5+ years in process safety engineering in Oil & Gas.
• Experience with HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA and OSHA PSM.
• Strong remote communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA.

• Review engineering designs and P&IDs for safety compliance and operability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in process safety engineering, specifically within the Oil & Gas sector.
• In-depth knowledge of HAZOP , LOPA, and other risk assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA PSM).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for risk mitigation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
