About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned and proactive Lead Process Safety Engineer to join their global team, working entirely remotely. This pivotal role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive process safety programs across all company facilities. You will be the primary expert on all matters related to process safety, ensuring compliance with international standards and regulations. The successful candidate will drive a strong safety culture and significantly contribute to risk reduction in hazardous operations, fostering an environment where safety is paramount, even from a distance, supporting a truly global operational footprint.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust Process Safety Management (PSM) systems, including PHA, MOC, PSSR, and incident investigation protocols.
• Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), such as HAZOP and LOPA studies, for new and existing processes.
• Provide expert guidance on process safety design, operational integrity, and risk assessment to engineering and operational teams.
• Develop and deliver process safety training programs to employees at all levels.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Champion a strong safety culture, promoting best practices and continuous improvement in process safety performance across all sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in process safety engineering, with a significant focus on chemical or petrochemical industries.
• In-depth knowledge of process safety standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, NFPA, API).
• Proven experience in leading PHAs, LOPAs, and managing PSM elements.
• Strong understanding of inherent safety principles and risk management techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills, particularly in a remote work environment .
