Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Process Mechanical Engineer to join the Soweto-based operational team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing mechanical systems and processes to improve efficiency, safety, and compliance within an industrial setting.

You will collaborate with operations, maintenance and quality assurance to support production and drive continuous improvement, including handling small to medium projects related to process enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 4 years in process engineering in an industrial setting.
• Solid understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and heat transfer.
• Experience with process equipment design, selection and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and modify mechanical processes and equipment to improve efficiency, safety and product quality.
• Perform process simulations and analyses to identify optimization and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Ensure mechanical processes comply with safety, environmental standards and policies.
• Troubleshoot process-related mechanical issues and document changes.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance and quality assurance teams to support production
• Manage small to medium projects related to process improvements or equipment upgrades.
