Placements24 is seeking a Process Development Engineer to join a forward-thinking team in Tembisa. You will lead the research, development, and scale-up of new chemical processes, transforming lab innovations into commercially viable manufacturing operations.

The role requires a Chemical Engineering degree and at least 2 years of experience, with proficiency in process simulation and data analysis. A collaborative, safety-conscious environment supporting hybrid work awaits in the Tembisa area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in process development, scale-up or optimization.
• Familiarity with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Experience with laboratory and pilot plant equipment is advantageous.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop new chemical processes and optimize existing ones for scalability and efficiency.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical reviews for proposed process changes and new technologies.
• Design and execute pilot plant studies to validate process parameters and gather data for scale-up.
• Prepare technical reports, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and mass and energy balances.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless process transfer.
• Ensure all process development activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
