Placements24 in Klerksdorp is seeking a driven Process Development Chemical Engineer to join their team. You will translate lab discoveries into scalable, cost-effective processes for new and existing product lines, collaborating with R&D, pilot plant operators, and manufacturing.

You will design, run and analyze experiments, develop robust processes from lab to pilot scale, troubleshoot issues, and document flows and balances while staying focused on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Engineering.
• 3–5 years in process development, scale-up or process optimization.
• Solid understanding of reaction engineering, thermodynamics and separation processes.
• Experience with process simulation software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze experiments for process development and optimization.
• Develop robust and scalable chemical processes from lab bench to pilot scale and beyond.
• Troubleshoot process issues and identify root causes, proposing effective solutions.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, process flow diagrams, and mass/energy balances.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and production teams to ensure smooth technology transfer.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and process innovations relevant to the company's operations.
