Placements24 is seeking a Process Design Engineer for our Randburg offices to conceptualize, design and develop innovative chemical processes. You will craft PFDs and P&IDs, perform balances, and specify equipment, contributing to significant industrial projects.

Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential. Ideal candidates have a strong chemical engineering background, 5+ years in process design, and proficiency in Aspen HYSYS or ChemCAD, with a commitment to safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of chemical process design experience.
• Proficient in Aspen HYSYS or ChemCAD.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
• Experience generating PFDs and P&IDs.
• Familiar with ASME/API codes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Willing to work full-time in Randburg.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent producer of industrial chemicals, is seeking a skilled Process Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering department in Randburg . This role is focused on the conceptualization, design, and development of new chemical processes and the modification of existing ones to meet market demands and operational efficiencies. You will be responsible for creating process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and performing material and energy balances. The ideal candidate will possess a strong theoretical background in chemical engineering principles, combined with practical experience in process design and simulation. Key Responsibilities

• Develop process designs from conceptualization through to detailed engineering phases.
• Create and manage Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
