Placements24 seeks a Chemical Engineer with a strong focus on process design and optimization in Sandton, Gauteng. You will lead conceptual design through detailed engineering and troubleshoot chemical processes while collaborating with R&D, operations and maintenance teams.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of experience, proficiency in Aspen Plus/HYSYS/ChemCAD, and solid knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and reaction engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in chemical process design and optimization.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ChemCAD).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and reaction engineering.
• Experience in PFD and P&ID development.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) principles is a plus.
