Placements24 is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer in Pretoria to lead the design of large-scale solar and wind energy systems. You will develop high-level architectures, perform grid studies, and guide teams from concept through commissioning.

The role requires a Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems or Renewable Energy, 10+ years in electrical engineering, and at least 5 years in renewables.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems or Renewable Energy.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a minimum of 5 years focused specifically on renewable energy projects.
• Deep understanding of grid integration, power electronics, energy storage systems, and control strategies for renewable energy.
• Proficiency in advanced simulation tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or similar.
• Proven track record of leading complex engineering projects and influencing technical direction.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is highly desirable.
