Placements24 seeks a Principal Architect to lead the design of large-scale industrial and logistics facilities in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will drive concept design, set technical standards, and manage client relationships from inception to completion.

The role requires a master's degree, SAIA registration, 15+ years of architectural experience (7+ in industrial), and deep knowledge of material handling, site logistics, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
• Professional registration with SAIA or comparable international body.
• 15+ years of architectural experience, with at least 7 years in industrial/logistics facilities.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, large-scale projects from concept to completion.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial building typologies, construction methods, and material handling systems.
• Proficiency in advanced BIM software (Revit), AutoCAD, and project management tools.
• Strong understanding of HSE regulations for industrial sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and planning for major industrial and logistics facilities around Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal.
• Develop innovative concepts to optimize operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
• Oversee creation of detailed drawings, specs, and construction documents to high technical standards.
• Collaborate with structural, MEP engineers and construction teams.
• Manage client expectations and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site feasibility studies, risk assessments, and regulatory checks.
