Placements24 is seeking a skilled Electrical Power Engineer to join our client's team, supporting projects from Upington. The role focuses on design, analysis, and implementation of electrical power systems to ensure safe, efficient energy distribution across infrastructure projects.

You will perform load flow analysis, short-circuit studies, and protection studies, collaborate with project teams and regulators, and contribute to grid modernization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• 3–5 years of experience in electrical power systems design and analysis.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD).
• Strong understanding of power generation, transmission, and distribution principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical power distribution systems, including substations, transmission lines, and protection schemes.
• Perform load flow analysis, short circuit calculations, and stability studies for power systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations for power systems.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for power system projects.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project delivery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to power system operation and performance.
