Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Power Systems Electrical Engineer for energy infrastructure projects in Richards Bay. You will design, analyze, and implement power generation, transmission, and distribution systems, balancing on-site tasks with remote analysis and reporting.

The role emphasizes safety, sustainability, and collaboration with project teams on installation, commissioning, and maintenance, with a focus on reliability and performance of large-scale power systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a Power Systems specialization.
Minimum 4 years of experience in power systems engineering.
Proficiency with ETAP or PSS/E and power system protection knowledge.
Hybrid work capability.

Responsibilities

Design and analyze electrical power systems, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks.
Perform load flow studies, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination for power systems.
Develop specifications for power equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and generators.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety codes.
Collaborate with project teams on the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of power systems.
Investigate power quality issues and implement solutions to improve system performance.
