Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Instrumentation Technician for a power generation facility near Upington. The role covers installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe, efficient plant operation.

Ideal candidates will have a trade qualification in Instrumentation with at least 4 years of experience in heavy industry, familiarity with Rosemount and Yokogawa instruments, and strong safety awareness in hazardous areas.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Instrumentation is required.
• 4+ years of instrumentation technician experience in heavy industrial/power settings preferred.
• Proficient in calibrating and maintaining instrumentation including transmitters and control valves.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain process instruments and control systems.
• Diagnose instrumentation faults to minimize downtime.
• Read instrumentation diagrams, loop sheets, and P&IDs.
• Perform routine checks on valves, transmitters and sensors.
• Work with PLC and DCS to ensure reliable processes.
