Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Grid Operations Specialist to monitor and maintain the stability of the electricity grid in Queenstown. You will use SCADA and other systems to analyze conditions, respond to disturbances, and coordinate with plant staff and stakeholders.

This role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of three years of experience in power system operations, grid management, and related technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in power system operations, grid management, or related field.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, grid control technologies, and power system analysis.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time operation of the electrical grid using SCADA and other monitoring systems.
• Analyze grid conditions, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain stability.
• Respond to grid disturbances, outages, and emergencies per established protocols.
• Coordinate with grid operators, plant personnel, and stakeholders.
• Manage and optimize power flow, voltage levels, and frequency within limits.
• Prepare operational reports and maintain detailed logs of grid activities.
