Placements24 is seeking a diligent Grid Operations Specialist in Centurion, Gauteng to monitor real-time grid conditions, respond to disturbances, and analyze performance data ensuring reliable power delivery. The role emphasizes coordination with generation facilities and transmission operators to optimize power flow and safety in a critical infrastructure environment.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, at least 4 years of experience in power

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience in power system operations or grid management.
Familiarity with SCADA, grid modeling, and power flow analysis.
Knowledge of South African electricity market regulations and operational standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
Excellent communication and teamwork during critical events.

Responsibilities

Monitor grid conditions in real-time, utilizing SCADA and other monitoring systems.
Respond promptly and effectively to grid disturbances, outages, and emergency situations.
Analyze grid performance data to identify potential issues and areas for optimization.
Coordinate with generation facilities and transmission operators to manage power flow.
Develop and implement operational procedures to enhance grid reliability and safety.
Prepare reports on grid performance, incidents, and operational activities.
