Placements24 is seeking a Senior Grid Operations Engineer to join the Randburg team responsible for the reliable operation of the regional electricity grid. You will monitor grid performance, balance load, respond to disturbances, and develop strategies to improve stability and resilience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably Power Systems.
7+ years of experience in grid operations, power system analysis, or related utility field.
Deep knowledge of power system dynamics, stability, and control methodologies; proficiency with SCADA/EMS.

Responsibilities

Monitor real-time grid performance for stability and reliability.
Manage load forecasting, dispatch, and load shedding protocols as needed.
Respond to disturbances, outages, and emergencies, coordinating response efforts.
