Job summary

Oude Werf Hotel in Stellenbosch is seeking a dedicated Porter Driver to ensure smooth guest services and logistics across arrivals, departures, and parking operations. The role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences through professional assistance and efficient vehicle handling.

The successful candidate will have a valid driver’s license (EB or higher), at least two years in a driving role, and strong English communication. Night shifts, weekends, and public holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license (EB or higher) and ability to drive manual and automatic transmission.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a driving/porter role.
• Good command of English; additional languages are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with guest arrivals, in-house guests and departures.
• Provide valet parking and safe vehicle retrieval.
• Handle guest luggage and support Front Office operations.
• Manage on-site and off-site parking areas and maintain a welcoming first impression.

The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of items and guest services throughout the hotel. The successful candidate will provide exceptional guest service by assisting with guest arrivals, in-house guests and departures, valet parking and the safe retrieval of vehicles, handling guest luggage, and supporting Front Office operations. The role also ensures efficient management of on-site and off-site parking areas while creating a welcoming, professional and memorable first impression for every guest.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar guest service or porter role is an advantage
• Valid driver’s license (EB or higher)
• Minimum two years’ experience in driving position
• Able to drive manual and automatic transmission
• Willingness to work shifts including night shift, weekends, and public holidays.
• Good command of English; additional languages are beneficial.
