Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Plant Operations Technician for Welkom to support the day‑to‑day running and maintenance of the production plant. You will operate and monitor plant equipment, perform routine checks and minor repairs, ensuring continuous and efficient production while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires the ability to read technical manuals, work safely in an industrial environment, and collaborate with a team to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Plant Operations Technician or in a similar industrial operating role.
• Good understanding of industrial machinery and production processes.
• Ability to interpret basic technical manuals and operational instructions.
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
• Must be physically fit and able to perform manual tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant equipment and machinery to ensure smooth and efficient production.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on plant equipment.
• Identify and report any operational issues, malfunctions, or safety concerns to the relevant supervisor.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) meticulously to maintain quality and safety standards.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of plant operations and maintenance activities.
