Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Plant Maintenance Supervisor for our client in Soweto. You will lead a maintenance team, oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, and coordinate with production to keep the plant running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in plant maintenance, with supervisory experience, and strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. CMMS experience is advantageous, and the role emphasizes leadership and safety in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• 5+ years in plant maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience maintaining and repairing a variety of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies.
• Experience with CMMS is advantageous for managing operations in Soweto.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily activities of the plant maintenance team, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance monitoring.
• Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs for all plant equipment.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety policies and regulations.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and coordinate timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies to ensure critical components are available.
• Collaborate with production management to align maintenance with production needs and optimize efficiency.
