Job summary

Recruitpro Solutions is seeking a Lead Plant Engineer to drive integrated delivery on large, long-duration mineral processing plant projects in Gauteng. You will own engineering from tender through commissioning, coordinating a multidisciplinary team across process, mechanical, piping, E&I and draughting.

The role requires a BEng/BSc in mechanical engineering with Int PE registration, 10+ years in minerals or heavy industry, and 3+ years in leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering (BEng/BSc).
• Int PE registration with ECSA is required.
• 10+ years in mineral processing or heavy industry projects.
• 5+ years in multidisciplinary plant/EPC/EPCM project delivery.
• 3+ years in engineering leadership or management.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering on major plant projects.
• Set up engineering execution plan and schedules.
• Review specs, datasheets, drawings, and equipment choices.
• Lead design reviews and approvals.
• Manage changes, RFIs, NCRs and vendor docs.
• Oversee budgets, hours, and resource loading.
• Support commissioning and handover activities.
• Interface with clients, consultants, suppliers and site teams.
• Drive design standardisation and ISO SHERQ compliance.
• Present designs and progress to EXCO and clients.
• Coach and KPI engineering team.
