Job summary

Ligpos (Pty) Ltd is seeking an Engineering Manager - Plant in Benoni to lead the plant engineering function across large mineral processing projects. You will own engineering from tender and concept through detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, commissioning and handover, coordinating multiple disciplines.

You will drive discipline leadership, interfaces with stakeholders, and ensure quality, schedules and budgets are maintained in line with standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Academic qualifications in mechanical/process engineering with professional registration.
• Int PE registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• 10+ years in mineral processing or heavy industrial plant projects.
• 5+ years delivering multidisciplinary plant or EPC/EPCM projects.
• 3+ years in leadership roles across design, procurement, fabrication and handover.
• Hands-on in design, procurement support, fabrication, commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical, process, E&I, drafting and project engineering across plant lifecycles.
• Serve as senior technical interface between Projects, BD, Operations, clients, and site teams with change control.
• Ensure deliverables, schedules, budgets, specifications and drawings meet quality baselines.
• Drive standardisation, design reviews, constructability, operability and ISO 9001/SHERQ compliance.
• Develop and manage engineering budgets, planned hours, resource loading and schedules.
• Identify and mitigate engineering risks, manage scope boundaries and RFIs/NCRs.
