Ligpos (Pty) Ltd is seeking an Engineering Manager - Plant in Benoni to lead the plant engineering function across large mineral processing projects. You will own engineering from tender and concept through detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, commissioning and handover, coordinating multiple disciplines.
You will drive discipline leadership, interfaces with stakeholders, and ensure quality, schedules and budgets are maintained in line with standards and regulatory requirements.

The Engineering Manager - Plant will lead and manage the Plant engineering function as an integrated project-delivery team responsible for large, complex, and long-duration mineral processing plant projects. You will take complete engineering ownership from tender and concept development through detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction support, installation, commissioning, performance testing, and final handover.
Multidisciplinary Project Leadership: Lead and coordinate mechanical, process, E&I, draughting, and project engineering inputs across EPC/EPCM plant project lifecycles.
Technical Interface & Ownership: Serve as the senior technical interface between Projects, BD, Operations, clients, consultants, and site teams while maintaining strict scope definition and change control.
Deliverable & Baseline Control: Ensure engineering deliverables, schedules, budgets, technical specifications, drawings, calculations, and equipment selections meet required quality and baseline standards.
Quality & Standards Compliance: Drive standardisation, design reviews, constructability, operability, maintainability, and lessons learned while ensuring compliance with MPT SHERQ and ISO 9001 standards.
Resource & Budget Management: Develop and manage engineering budgets, planned hours, resource loading, and schedules across concurrent plant projects.
Risk & Interface Management: Identify and mitigate engineering risks, manage scope boundaries, battery limits, and resolve technical queries (RFIs, TQs, NCRs).
Academic Qualifications: BEng / BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Required). BEng / BSc in Process, Chemical, or Metallurgical Engineering is an added advantage.
Professional Registration: Registered International Professional Engineer (Int PE) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) – Mandatory.
Experience:
10+ years of engineering experience in mineral processing, mining, or heavy industrial plant projects.
5+ years delivering multidisciplinary plant or EPC/EPCM-type projects.
3+ years in engineering leadership or management roles.
Demonstrated lifecycle experience across design, procurement support, fabrication, commissioning, and handover.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (MS Project), Inventor / Solid-Edge / SolidWorks. Competency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and/or MATLAB is an advantage.
