Qualifications

• BEng or BSc Engineering in Chemical Engineering from a recognised institution.
• 8+ years of relevant process engineering experience in multidisciplinary settings.
• Proven experience in process plant design in mining, metallurgical, chemical, or related sectors.
• Strong expertise in mass and energy balances, modelling, sizing, and design.
• Experience with PFDs, P&IDs, specs and engineering documentation.
• Exposure to HAZOP, process safety and commissioning.
• Ability to lead work packages and mentor engineers.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to engage confidently with clients and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering design activities across feasibility, detailed design and project execution phases.
• Develop and review mass and energy balances, process simulations and equipment sizing calculations.
• Oversee the preparation of BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications and process design documentation.
• Develop process design philosophies, operating philosophies and technical reports.
• Lead or contribute to HAZOPs, SIL assessments, technical reviews and process safety studies.
• Provide technical input into project scopes, tenders, cost estimates and engineering proposals.
• Coordinate process engineering deliverables across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Provide technical guidance during equipment procurement, construction, commissioning and performance testing.
• Identify process improvements and opportunities for optimisation.
• Mentor and supervise junior and intermediate Process Engineers.
• Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable technical standards, safety requirements and project specifications.
