About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join their remote engineering team, supporting operations potentially linked to the Nelspruit region. This role is vital for ensuring the safety, reliability, and longevity of the company's extensive pipeline network. You will be responsible for developing and implementing integrity management programs, conducting risk assessments, and recommending strategies for maintenance and repair to prevent failures. The position requires a strong understanding of pipeline materials, corrosion, inspection technologies, and regulatory requirements, enabling proactive management of pipeline assets in a virtual collaboration setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive pipeline integrity management (PIM) plans and strategies.
• Conduct risk-based assessments to identify and prioritize pipeline integrity threats (e.g., corrosion, erosion, mechanical damage).
• Oversee and analyze data from various inspection techniques (e.g., ILI, NDT) to assess pipeline condition.
• Recommend appropriate repair and mitigation strategies for identified integrity issues.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and project engineers, in a remote capacity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in pipeline integrity engineering, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Strong knowledge of pipeline materials, welding, corrosion mechanisms, and failure modes.
• Experience with inline inspection (ILI) tools and data analysis.
• Familiarity with pipeline integrity management software and regulatory frameworks.
