Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Petroleum Engineer to join our client’s growing Mossel Bay team. The role focuses on optimizing oil and gas asset production, analyzing data, and implementing strategies to maximize recovery and economic value.

You will work closely with field operations and management, collaborate with reservoir engineers and geologists, and contribute to safe, compliant production activities with a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in oil and gas production engineering.
• Familiarity with production operations, well testing, and artificial lift systems.
• Basic understanding of reservoir simulation and analysis.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for effective collaboration in Mossel Bay.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze well and field production data to identify performance issues and opportunities.
• Develop and recommend production enhancement strategies, including artificial lift and EOR techniques.
• Prepare production forecasts and economic evaluations for various development scenarios.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geologists to integrate subsurface understanding into production plans.
• Assist in the planning and execution of workovers and interventions.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all production activities.
