Maersk is seeking a People Operations Advisor to join our Cape Town team. You will be the first point of contact for HR queries, guide policies and processes, and manage the full employee lifecycle from hire to retire while maintaining strong relationships across the business.

The role requires a collaborative, empathetic professional with 2+ years in HR and experience with HR systems like Workday. On-site support and regional collaboration are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred.
• At least 2 years’ experience in Human Resources or a similar HR advisory role.
• Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Able to work with empathy, professionalism, and sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for HR queries via case management, chat, phone, and face-to-face support.
• Provide guidance on HR policies, processes, and HR systems.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle from Hire to Retire including compliance activities and documentation.
• Champion an employee-first approach and demonstrate operational excellence.
• Provide on-site People Operations support and represent the People Operations Advisory at events.
