Boardroom Appointments seeks a Data BI Analyst (People) to leverage data assets and provide actionable trends that enable sound people-oriented decisions. You will work in a cross-functional, agile team on complex analytics projects, including modelling, experimental design and presenting findings in clear business terms.

The role requires a Degree or Diploma in DS/CS/IT, 2+ years in a data team, and strong SQL, dashboards and data visualization skills (Tableau/PowerBI).

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related / quantitative field (essential).
• +2 years experience working as part of a progressive data team, ideally in a similar role, with proven experience developing analytics products and working with large data sets, distilling it down and shaping it in a way that informs people centred decisions (essential).
• Experience applying analytical formula, modelling and trend forecasting of multiple data sources across systems (essential).
• Understanding of data ecosystems, data flows, varying types of data (first- and second-party data) and employee profiling (essential).
• Understanding of legal compliance as it relates to personal data and privacy laws (POPIA) (essential).
• Experience creating dashboards and reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) (essential).
• Excellent knowledge and application of SQL and relational databases (essential).
• Strong proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint with an advanced level of Excel skill (essential).

Responsabilités

• The purpose of the Data BI Analyst(People) role is to leverage data assets to provide actionable trends and insights that enable business to make sound people orientated decisions.
• The role works collaboratively in a cross-functional, agile team, executing a variety of complex data analytics projects, including modelling, and framing of business scenarios to solve analytical problems, performing experimental design approaches to validate findings or test hypotheses, depicting and presenting the rationale of findings in easy-to-understand terms for business and providing consolidated business reports and dashboards.
• The People BI/Data Analyst is a critical thinker who applies their technical, analytical and communication skills to infer meaning from data and translate these in a concise, cohesive, and engaging story
