Job summary

Qualifications

  • Matric/Grade 12
  • Certificate/Diploma in Payroll Admin/Bookkeeping (advantageous)
  • 2-5 years payroll experience, specifically in wage processing and attendance tracking.
  • Knowledge of labour legislation related to payroll processing.
  • Experience with payroll systems and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience with large payroll head count and/or retail environment

Responsibilities

  • Receive and verify time and attendance data from store managers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Follow up with stores on missing, incomplete, or inconsistent information.
  • Capture approved time and attendance figures into the payroll system.
  • Process overtime in accordance with company policy and labour legislation.
  • Apply staff deductions correctly on employee pay slips.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Address payroll-related queries from store staff and management.
  • Investigate and resolve pay discrepancies, deduction queries, and overtime disputes in a timely manner.
  • Escalate complex issues to the Payroll Manager as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of queries and resolutions for audit purposes.
  • Capture and submit OID information for Workmen's Compensation submissions.
  • Administer and submit monthly Provident Fund reports.
  • Control the authorisation of Provident Fund contributions upon staff leave or dismissal.
  • Handle UIF queries with the Department of Labour.
  • Capture and reconcile salary deductions prior to payment to suppliers.

Requirements
