Kendrick Recruitment is assisting a luxury boutique hotel in Centurion, Gauteng to recruit a Pastry Sous Chef. You will lead a pastry team, craft high-end desserts, and contribute to menu development in a demanding hospitality setting.

Ideal candidates will have senior pastry experience in luxury hotels, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional quality and presentation.

Qualifications

• Previous senior pastry experience required.
• Proven leadership and training ability.
• Experience in luxury hotel pastry operations.
• Strong hygiene and food safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pastry Chef with daily pastry kitchen operations.
• Produce high-quality pastries, desserts, breads and baked goods.
• Ensure consistency and presentation across all pastry products.
• Contribute to menu development and introduce creative pastry concepts.
• Supervise and mentor junior pastry staff.
• Maintain mise en place to standard and efficiency.
• Uphold high hygiene, cleanliness and safety standards.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control.
• Minimise wastage while ensuring quality and portion control.
• Support training and development within the pastry team.
• Assist Pastry Chef and Executive Chef with daily kitchen needs.
