The ideal candidate has senior pastry experience, strong leadership, a creative approach to desserts and a solid grasp of hygiene and safety. Weekend and public holiday work may be required in a high-end hospitality environment.

Formación

• Previous experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or in a senior pastry role.
• Formal culinary or pastry qualification would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and production.
• Experience within a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and presentation.
• Creative approach to pastry and dessert preparation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the Pastry Chef with the daily operation of the pastry kitchen.
• Produce a variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, breads and baked goods.
• Ensure consistency, presentation and quality across all pastry products.
• Support menu development and introduce creative pastry concepts.
• Supervise and guide junior pastry team members.
• Ensure mise en place is completed efficiently and to the required standard.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control.
• Minimise wastage while maintaining quality and portion control.
• Assist with training and development within the pastry team.
• Support the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef with daily kitchen requirements.

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join a luxury boutique hotel in Centurion, Gauteng.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting the Pastry Chef with the daily operation of the pastry kitchen
