Job summary

Placements24 are sourcing a dedicated Special Needs Education Facilitator for a leading independent school in Sandton, Gauteng. This part-time role focuses on creating an inclusive learning environment and tailoring support to students with diverse needs.

You will work with teachers, parents, and specialists to develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and contribute to holistic student development within the school community.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in special needs support.
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, empathy, and commitment to inclusive education.
• Experience in Gauteng region preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized or small-group academic support to students with special educational needs.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt learning materials and strategies to meet diverse needs.
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and contribute to progress reports.
• Support students in developing essential life skills and social-emotional competencies.
• Facilitate a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and external therapists or specialists.
• Assist students with specific learning challenges, disabilities, or giftedness.
• Uphold school policies and procedures regarding special education support.
• Participate in relevant professional development opportunities.
