Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Aftercare Facilitator & Tutor for a reputable educational institution in Tembisa, Gauteng. The role focuses on supervising and supporting primary school students (Grades 1-7) after school, with homework help and enrichment activities in a safe, caring environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with children, a good grasp of primary subjects, strong communication, and a patient, nurturing approach.

Qualifications

Experience working with children in school, aftercare, or similar setting.
Strong academic background, particularly in primary school curriculum subjects.
Demonstrated ability to assist with homework and provide academic support.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
First Aid and CPR certification is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

Supervise a group of primary school students in a safe and structured aftercare environment.
Assist students with homework completion across various subjects, providing clear explanations and guidance.
Develop and implement engaging age-appropriate recreational and educational activities (e.g., arts and crafts, games, reading).
Ensure the physical and emotional safety and well-being of all children under care.
Maintain tidiness and orderliness within the aftercare facility.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
Uphold the school's policies and procedures at all times.
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all children feel valued and supported.
Administer basic first aid if required.
