Job summary

Absa Bank Limited is seeking a senior leader to head Pan-African business development within CIB Transactional Banking. You will shape growth, expand markets and lead cross-functional teams to win strategic revenue opportunities across Africa.

You will build executive-level relationships with regulators, industry bodies and clients, driving sustainable revenue and market access in collaboration with product, sales, and regional teams.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Transactional Banking, Corporate Banking or related financial services.
• Executive leadership experience in business development, sales or client coverage.
• Proven track record of originating strategic opportunities and revenue growth.
• Deep understanding of Pan-African Transactional Banking markets and sectors.
• Ability to engage senior stakeholders, regulators and ecosystem partners.
• Commercial judgement and cross-functional leadership around complex opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the Pan-African business development strategy aligned to growth.
• Originating high-value opportunities across public sector, infrastructure, ecosystems.
• Build executive relationships with decision-makers, regulators and partners.
• Develop partnerships to enhance market access and growth.
• Collaborate across Cash Management, Payments, Liquidity, Trade and more to deliver solutions.
• Drive disciplined opportunity management and sustainable revenue growth.
• Lead and develop a high-performing business development franchise.
