Job summary

Staff Unlimited Recruitment is seeking a Packhouse Manager for a citrus production facility in Kirkwood, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on developing strategic packhouse plans, driving KPI performance, and leading staff to achieve packhouse objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in production/operations/engineering, strong communication skills, and extensive experience in quality, environmental and safety management systems within a production environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification within production, operations or engineering disciplines.
• Computer literate with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• 10 years' experience in production, with at least 5 in a management role.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of quality, environmental and safety management systems (BRC, HACCP, ISO, SIZA, GlobalGAP).

Our client in the Agriculture Industry is seeking a Packhouse Manager to join their team.

Job Location: Kirkwood

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic packhouse operational plans




• Achieve Packhouse goals and objectives through agreed key performance indicators




• Lead and motivate staff to meet packhouse goals and objectives




• Co-ordination and execution of the packing program as planned and prioritised by the Marketing department




• Ensure compliance with quality and market specifications of product being packed




• Manage staff effectively and ensure ongoing compliance with company policies




• Ensure compliance with quality, food safety and sanitation requirements




• Manage costs within the packhouse against the budget




• Identify, lead, and implement continuous improvement initiatives




• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements

Key Requirements:

• A relevant tertiary qualification within production, operations or engineering disciplines




• Computer literate – MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)




• 10 years’ experience within a production environment (preferably in the citrus industry), of which 5 years should be in a management role




• Strong communication skills
