Job summary

Staff Unlimited Recruitment is seeking a Packhouse Manager for a citrus production facility in Kirkwood, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on developing strategic packhouse plans, driving KPI performance, and leading staff to achieve packhouse objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in production/operations/engineering, strong communication skills, and extensive experience in quality, environmental and safety management systems within a production environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification within production, operations or engineering disciplines.
• Computer literate with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• 10 years' experience in production, with at least 5 in a management role.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of quality, environmental and safety management systems (BRC, HACCP, ISO, SIZA, GlobalGAP).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic packhouse operational plans.
• Achieve packhouse goals via KPIs.
• Lead and motivate staff to meet objectives.
• Coordinate and execute the packing program with Marketing.
• Ensure compliance with quality and market specifications.
• Manage staff and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Ensure compliance with quality, food safety and sanitation.
• Manage costs within packhouse against budget.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements.
