Placements24 is seeking an Operations Manager for its Pretoria-based corporate catering division. The role oversees day-to-day operations, staff deployment, inventory control, and adherence to high standards to ensure client satisfaction and profitability.

We require at least 5 years in catering/hospitality operations management, with strong leadership and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in scheduling and inventory software.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within catering or hospitality.
• Experience managing logistics, staff, and inventory in a high-volume environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and operational best practices in catering.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software including scheduling and inventory management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the corporate catering division, ensuring seamless execution of events and services.
• Manage and schedule catering staff, including chefs, servers, and delivery personnel, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient deployment.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels for food, beverages, and supplies, implementing cost-effective purchasing strategies.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards in kitchen and service areas.
• Develop and implement operational procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.
• Liaise with clients, sales teams, and culinary staff to ensure clear communication and successful event delivery.
• Troubleshoot operational issues as they arise, implementing timely and effective solutions.
